Ivana Vaseva

Biography

Ivana Vaseva is a curator and researcher based in Skopje, North Macedonia. She is a curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art – Skopje, Program Director of the Faculty of Things That Can't Be Learned (FRU), and co-curator of the AKTO Festival for Contemporary Arts.

Her curatorial practice is rooted in collaborative methodologies, engaging communities within and beyond the arts to develop exhibitions and platforms that foster co-creation, dialogue, critical reflection, and political expression. Through her work, she explores the intersections of contemporary art, social engagement, and cultural production.

As project curator, Vaseva was awarded the Golden Triga for Best Exposition at the Prague Quadrennial 2019. She has also received two "Ladislav Barishikj" Awards from AICA Macedonia as a co-author, as well as a Special Architecture Award as a co-participant.

Her curatorial projects include REALIZE! RESIST! REACT! at +MSUM, Ljubljana; PRECARITY HAS A CHANCE in Sofia; Propaganda Station, a solo exhibition by Jonas Staal, and Broken Time at the Museum of Contemporary Art – Skopje; and NO TIME TO WORK. NO TIME FREE OF WORK, presented in Skopje and Prague, among others.
