CIMAM Welcomes New Members - June 2026

We are delighted to welcome a new group of professionals working across the field of modern and contemporary art museums to our international community. Bringing a wide range of experiences, perspectives, and institutional backgrounds, these new members contribute to the ongoing exchange of ideas, collaboration, and shared practices that continue to enrich and strengthen CIMAM’s global network.

POST2 Welcome Julie Bonzon

Julie Bonzon is a Swiss art historian, photography curator, and lecturer based between Zurich and London. Specializing in South African photography and contemporary lens-based practices within African contexts, her work focuses on decolonial representation and visual culture. She holds a PhD in Art History and is the author of The Market Photo Workshop in South Africa and the ‘Born Free’ Generation (Routledge, 2023). Bonzon has collaborated with leading international institutions including Magnum Photos, The Photographer’s Gallery, Photo Élysée, and the Sharjah Architecture Triennial. In 2020, she founded The Photographic Collective, a platform dedicated to supporting lens-based artists working in Africa.


POST2 Welcome Martina Vovk 1

Martina Vovk is an art historian, comparative literary scholar, and curator at the Museum of Modern Art. Holding a PhD in Art History and Comparative Literature, she has worked in the museum’s Department of Collections and Exhibitions since 2011, focusing primarily on 20th-century art. She has curated numerous major retrospective and group exhibitions, authored scholarly texts, and edited exhibition catalogues for the Always Available exhibition series. Vovk is a certified curator and museum advisor, and regularly serves on expert juries in the fields of fine and visual arts. In 2023, she became Acting Director of the Modern Gallery and serves as Commissioner for the Slovenian Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale, presenting Nike Span’s project The Secret of the Garden for You.


POST2 Welcome Ivana Vaseva 1

Ivana Vaseva is a curator, researcher, and author working in the field of contemporary visual arts from an interdisciplinary perspective. Her practice focuses on developing collaborative and participatory projects that challenge established structures, rethink public space, and explore new forms of artistic and social engagement. Her research addresses labor rights in the cultural sector, the conditions of contemporary art production, and the institutional frameworks of modernism, with a particular interest in socially engaged art practices and the creation of alternative participatory models.

Luisa Fink is an art historian, curator, and since May 2025 museum director in Rome of a new institution dedicated to wom:en artists, opening in 2026. My work explores the museum as a space for social transformation. Since 2007, I have held curatorial and collection leadership roles at major public institutions in Germany, including the Pinakothek der Moderne, the Neue National galerie, and the Hamburger Kunsthalle. My research focuses on post-1960 sculpture and performance, grounded in a PhD and an M.A. in Philosophy with a focus on wom:en’s rights. I have curated major international exhibitions, developed innovative educational formats, and published extensively on contemporary art. My practice bridges rigorous scholarship with accessible, socially engaged exhibition-making


Post2_Welcome Sofia Dati Updated

Sofia Dati is a curator and writer based in Brussels, currently working at WIELS. Previously, she was visual and audiovisual arts programmer at Beursschouwburg, where she curated exhibitions and film programs with numerous contemporary artists and collectives. Between 2019 and 2021, as part of the curatorial team at WIELS, she contributed to exhibitions, public programs, and publications, including the collaborative project Risquons-Tout, which explored themes of risk, unpredictability, and transgression. Dati is also engaged in collective curatorial practices with Black Archive and Kinostories. Educated in Literature, Cultural Studies, and Curatorial Studies in Paris, Leuven, and Rome, her practice is grounded in writing and translation. She has collaborated on literary and editorial projects, including translations for the Christopher Okigbo Foundation, and has published texts in journals such as Po&sie, Arshake, and Conceptual Fine Arts.


Post 2 Welcome Emma Enderby Updated

Emma Enderby is a curator, writer, and lecturer specializing in modern and contemporary art, and has served as Director of KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin since 2024. Previously, she was Head of Programs and Research and Chief Curator at Haus der Kunst in Munich, where she curated exhibitions including Liliane Lijn: Arise Alive and projects with Tony Cokes and Rirkrit Tiravanija. Before that, as Chief Curator at The Shed in New York, she helped shape the institution’s founding multidisciplinary program, organizing major exhibitions with artists such as Agnes Denes, Tomás Saraceno, Ian Cheng, Oscar Murillo, and Carrie Mae Weems. Her earlier curatorial work includes roles at the Public Art Fund and Serpentine Galleries, where she developed exhibitions with artists including Hilma af Klint, Rachel Rose, and Adrián Villar Rojas. Alongside her institutional practice, Enderby is active as a lecturer, critic, editor, and contributor to numerous publications and exhibition catalogues. She holds degrees from University College London and the University of Oxford.


Post 2_Welcome Cathleen Chaffee

Cathleen Chaffee is Chief Curator of the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, where she has led the curatorial department since 2017, overseeing exhibitions, acquisitions, public art projects, and special collections. Her work is driven by a commitment to the role of art in connecting historical understanding with contemporary cultural discourse. Chaffee has curated major exhibitions including Stanley Whitney: How High the Moon and Marisol: A Retrospective, and co-curated Stanley Whitney: The Italian Paintings during the 59th Venice Biennale. She also oversees the museum’s stewardship of Marisol’s artistic estate. Her curatorial practice has introduced significant museum surveys and retrospectives for artists such as Tony Conrad, Joe Bradley, and Clyfford Still, alongside projects with Christine Sun Kim and Eija-Liisa Ahtila. A widely published scholar and critic, she has contributed to journals including Artforum, Frieze, and Mousse. Before joining Buffalo AKG, Chaffee held curatorial positions at the Yale University Art Gallery, MoMA, and the Cleveland Museum of Art. She holds a PhD from NYU’s Institute of Fine Arts and an MA from the Courtauld Institute of Art.
