CIMAM Stands in Solidarity with Venezuela

In Solidarity with Venezuela

CIMAM, the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Modern Art, expresses its deepest solidarity with the people of Venezuela following the devastating earthquakes of 24 June 2026, which have caused profound loss of life, displacement, and widespread damage, particularly in La Guaira.

Our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones, those still awaiting news of family and friends, and the many communities facing the immediate and longer-term consequences of this humanitarian emergency.

As an international community of museums and contemporary art professionals, CIMAM stands alongside its Venezuelan members and the cultural community, greatly affected by the earthquakes, in an already vulnerable context.

We recognize local communities, the rescue workers, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and international organizations who continue to support search, rescue, relief, and recovery efforts under extremely difficult circumstances. More than ever, we believe in the notion of international solidarity, empathy, and in supporting local communities in the process of grief and reconstruction.

Our members in Venezuela have shared these initial reliable resources and sources of support. We will keep this space active and updated as further verified information, support networks, humanitarian organisations, and initiatives assisting affected communities are shared with us.
