Centro Botín, which opened in 2017, is the most important project in the history of the Botín Foundation. The Centre, designed by the award-wining architect, Renzo Piano, has created a unique space for the development of creativity as a means to generate economic and social wealth in Santander. Since its opening, Centro Botín, which aspires to establish itself as one of the outstanding venues on the international art circuit, has become a dynamic place for people to meet and engage with art, music, film, theatre, literature and dance.

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Centro Botín, the Director of Exhibitions and Collection is responsible for developing and delivering the visual arts programme, working with the Visual Arts Advisory Committee, chaired by Vicente Todolí. Candidates for this role will ensure the delivery of an exciting and engaging programme of exhibitions, artist engagement and commissioning and will work with the Collection to propose acquisitions and to curate different presentations.  They will be an ambassador for Centro Botín, creating, maintaining and managing good relationships with collaborators, artists, collectors and institutions at the local, national and international level. They will be responsible for the interpretation of the exhibitions and participate in the design of the training and cultural activities of the Centre.

In the new Director of Exhibitions and Collection, the Botín Foundation seeks candidates with an international reputation as excellent and innovative curators. With strong international networks, good organisational skills and an ability to work effectively within a busy team, candidates for this role will be keen to enhance the work of Centro Botín in improving understanding, enjoyment and engagement with modern and contemporary art to a diverse range of audiences at home and abroad. They will be team-players, keen to work with colleagues to deliver excellent exhibitions and content and to contribute to the wider activities and reputation of Centro Botín.
