About Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca
The Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca manages a singular collection of artistic and documentary holdings centered on the legacy of Joan Miró and his creative period on the island. The collections are diverse and interrelated, encompassing original works of art, archival materials related to Miró’s artistic process, and contemporary works by artists linked to the institution’s cultural programmes.
The foundation also preserves Miró’s two original studios — Taller Sert and Son Boter — kept exactly as he left them, offering a unique opportunity to experience the artist’s creative environment firsthand.
The museum collection includes a broad range of media and techniques used by Miró, such as paintings, sculptures, drawings, graphic works, illustrated books, maquettes, and a significant number of objects and tools from his workshops. It also includes graphic works by other artists printed in the foundation’s workshops and a selection of artistic tributes to Miró. Altogether, this collection provides an exceptional insight into the artist’s symbolic world, creative practices, and material environment.
