About Fondazione Torino Musei, Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art (GAM)

GAM’s collections boast over 45,000 works, spanning paintings, sculptures, installations, and photographs from the 19th century to contemporary art. This extensive and diverse collection reflects a rich artistic heritage and ongoing dialogue between historical and modern creative expressions.

The Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art (GAM) in Turin approaches research by fostering a dynamic dialogue between its historical collections and contemporary art practices. Through the thematic program "Resonance", the museum explores various concepts and displays, creating a fil rouge between the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions. The part dedicated to the Living Depot is an experimental way of displaying, inspired by the idea of storage. This method allows the museum to show and the public to see a very large number of artworks from the collection.
