Sonsbeek art projects is the organization behind Sonsbeek 2026: Ik hoef geen tuin, ik deel een park (I don’t need a backyard, I share a park), the thirteenth edition of Europe’s oldest recurring exhibition for contemporary art in public space. Rooted in Arnhem and shaped by international collaborations with artists and institutions, Sonsbeek art projects combines artistic experimentation and engagement with diverse publics, facilitating new connections. In taking critical positions that address urgent conversations through contemporary art, it is also important to us to acknowledge the varying role the organization has had, especially through its archive. At the base of everything is Park Sonsbeek, a nineteenth-century landscaped park and national monument. From here, the large-scale exhibition periodically unfolds, and in the years between editions, a continuous program of activities and research connect past, present, and future editions.
