Papers
As part of CIMAM’s Continuous Education Platform, CIMAM Papers is a digital publication series dedicated to critical reflection, research, and knowledge exchange within the international modern and contemporary art museum community.
Drawing on the expertise and experiences of museum professionals worldwide, the series brings together diverse perspectives on the ethical, social, political, environmental, and institutional challenges shaping museum practice. Through contributions that respond to the questions, concerns, and transformations experienced across CIMAM’s international community, the series aims to circulate ideas, stimulate critical dialogue, foster new professional connections, and strengthen CIMAM’s role as a global platform for knowledge exchange and continuing professional development.
The series combines commissioned contributions with an open call for CIMAM members, inviting museum professionals to share their research, reflections, and experiences. Open to a wide range of subjects and approaches, the papers explore institutional practice, collections, restitution, technology, ecology, governance, labour, artistic production, and pressing social and political questions, among other topics. By bringing together diverse voices, geographical perspectives, and forms of knowledge, the series aims to give greater visibility to insights emerging from different institutional contexts and encourage critical dialogue across CIMAM’s international network.
