Condolences to Mrs. Yoshiko Mori
CIMAM extends its sincere condolences on the passing of Mrs. Yoshiko Mori, Chairperson Emerita of the Mori Art Museum, Tokyo.
The Mori Art Museum has been a committed Patron of CIMAM since 2015, a relationship marked by long-standing shared values and a deep commitment to contemporary art and international exchange. That same year, the Museum generously hosted the CIMAM Annual Conference in Tokyo, an event that remains a significant milestone in the organisation’s history and in its engagement with the Asia-Pacific region.
Tokyo has long held a significant place in CIMAM’s history. The city hosted the CIMAM Annual Conference as early as 1994 under the title The Museum of the 21st Century – New Possibilities and Prospects, reflecting an enduring dialogue between Japanese institutions and CIMAM’s global community.
Since the past decade, the Mori Art Museum’s patronage has been playing an important role in supporting CIMAM’s mission and international program, strengthening professional exchange and dialogue across geographies.
The CIMAM Board—past and present—the Executive Office, and the international membership join the Mori Art Museum, its team, and Mrs. Mori’s family in mourning her loss and in honouring her remarkable contribution to the field, as well as her legacy in Mori Art Museum's ongoing support as a Patron of CIMAM.
