M+ SEEKS MUSEUM POLICY AND MANAGEMENT SERVICES EXCUTIVE DIRECTOR
M+ is a new and forward-looking cultural institution with museum functions, located in the emergent West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD), focusing on 20th to 21st century visual with four initial broad groupings – design, moving image, popular culture and visual art (including ink art). The Exhibition Centre will accord priority to arts-related uses.
Reporting to the CEO, the Museum Policy and Management Services Executive Director will serve as the WKCD Authority’s expert in museum and exhibition facilities planning, design and construction of facilities, policies, governance, programming and operations.
The candidate should possess a recognized university degree (or equivalent) relevant to the museum studies, visual culture, fine art, art history, art education or other related fields (Master degree preferred), at least 20 years’ full-time working experience in the museum field including planning, design and operation of contemporary art museums, of which 10 years should be in a similar position. He/She should possess an international network with museums, art collectors, artists/art groups and arts academics. Knowledge of Asian contemporary art and connections in the Asia-Pacific region would be an asset.
