CIMAM LAUNCHES AN ONLINE TOURING EXHIBITION DATABASE
Due to the interest expressed by some of our institutional members in relation to enhancing the collaboration among institutions and the circulation and exchange of exhibitions, CIMAM LAUNCHES AN ONLINE SEARCHABLE DIRECTORY OF TOURING EXHIBITIONS where member institutions can post their shows available for tour.
The database, accessible at www.cimam.org, includes lists of available shows and their requirements, and is searchable by title, artist, curator, institution, floor space, dates of availability, and exhibition fee. CIMAM expects the site to be continually updated with new items as the user community grows.
SEARCHING TO BORROW IS FREE AND OPEN TO EVERYONE,and there are no registration requirements or usage limits. To assure the quality of the announcements, POSTING EXHIBITIONS IS ONLY OPEN TO CIMAM INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERS. An annual fee applies - 90 Euros per institution per calendar year - allowing unlimited posts.
FOR THOSE LOOKING TO CIRCULATE EXHIBITIONS,the database makes the process very simple, all the necessary information regarding a show is uploaded by the institution into one single record, allowing interested colleagues to take up contact directly with the institution, and aware of relevant details beforehand;
- the structure facilitates quick uploading of exhibition details and images;
- institutions can update, edit, activate or deactivate posts at any time;
- an administrator is on hand to ensure quality control of the information on the site, and to answer any questions institutions might have.
FOR THOSE SEARCHING FOR AN EXHIBITION the database provides comprehensive access to exhibitions available for tour,
- easily searchable by category;
- under each exhibition’s headline is the date of entry, and name and email of the person who posted it;
- images accompany each record.
